What The Show Is All About
From PICTON in PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY – THE PEC, an area renowned for its Sandbank Beaches and Ontario’s youngest wine region, two fun-loving brothers, RICKBOB and MYLES JARVIS, invite you to a JARVIS BROS. COOKOUT.
This downhome Canadian cookout pairs tasty local meats and sides, complimentary libations, and great music.
Rickbob is the beer and wine connoisseur who loves fifties and sixties tunes.
Myles loves to cook and play heavy metal music. Together, they make a great pair.
In each episode, the Jarvis Brothers guide us through Prince Edward County’s deep farming and agriculture roots.
They shop for locally raised meats at family-owned butchers, and farms with staple crops such as Damson plums, sour cherries, and potatoes.
Season 1
We visit local wineries and breweries taste-testing “beverages”, to find which will pair well with “the cook”.
The brewers and winemakers explain the content and process and offer pairing suggestions.
The first season of the TV show will have eight episodes featuring eight different pairing ideas.
These pairings are put to the test as we have friends and family taste-test each dish and offer their opinions.
We bring everything to their JARVIS GARAGE, a makeshift kitchen with a concert stage, where we GRILL, SMOKE, and DEEP FRY mouthwatering family recipes that won’t break the bank.
When “the cook” is done, they serve you up a spread that will tantalize the taste buds and have you coming back for more.

Grab a plate, get a drink, and dig in as the Jarvis brothers explain how to prepare some amazing recipes before they take the stage to play some good old rock and roll you can tap toes and eat along with.
Filming the first cooking show in Prince Edward County was an absolute blast, especially because I got to do it with my brother, Myles. The show spanned 8 episodes, each focusing on the best ways to prepare smoked BBQ, from brisket and chicken thighs to ribs, canned chicken, and even a smoked and deep-fried turkey! Every dish had a perfect pairing of local cider, wine, or craft beer, showcasing the amazing flavors that this region has to offer.
Myles and I shared lots of laughs while preparing and filming these mouthwatering meals, and it brought out a great dynamic between us. Whether we were making a smoked brisket in just 18 hours or experimenting with pairings like crisp cider or a robust wine with tender BBQ. The setting of Prince Edward County, with its rich local flavors, made every moment exciting and memorable.

Behind the scenes
What an amazing opportunity to be part of the first-ever Prince Edward Country Cooking and Pairing show.
As the cast organizes the set and cameras, the producers are running preparing recipes for side dishes and the Director calls, “Ready on Set“. The excitement builds and we try to remember our lines as we anticipate what’s going to happen next.
The crew soon became part of the Jarvis family as we filmed, ate, and tasted our way through all eight episodes.
